Let's Question Our Doctrine of Hell

Most Christians believe that the Bible says anyone who does not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour will burn in the fires of Hell for all eternity...

eternity!

do you know how long that is?

...and they are okay with that.

They believe that the God they serve...

who is just...

and merciful...

would sentence the majority of people that have ever lived...

the people He loved enough to die for...

to that fate.

They believe they can be perfectly content and happy (along with God)while their brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and even moms and dads scream in agony in the fires of Hell...begging to die...forever.

Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this picture?

Would a just God sentence someone who has lead a decent and moral life to the same fate as say, Adolf Hitler...because they didn't accept Christ?

How could He do that and still be considered just?

Now before you hang me for heresy, let's take a look at some scriptures.

Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Philippians 3:18-19,.... "they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction..."

2 Thessalonians 1:9, "These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord...." (NKJV)

These verses clearly tells us the punishment for sinners is death and destruction...not eternal life suffering in another place.

I am no theologian, but I like to think I have common sense.

Because I questioned these things, I decided to look it up online. I

found a great article that every Christian should read on this subject. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
